Manga artist Leiji Matsumoto has passed away due to acute heart failure

It has been announced that manga artist Leiji Matsumoto (Uchuu Senkan Yamato, Uchuu Kaizoku Captain Harlock, Ginga Tetsudou 999, etc.) has passed away due to acute heart failure on February 13 of this year. He was 85 years old.
A funeral in his honor has already been held by his close relatives and this was presided over by his wife, the mangaka Miyako Maki.
